Clash of Two Cultures
You are undoubtedly familiar with the New Testament gospels but this study offers a new and fresh perspective by taking you back to the first century, to the time of Jesus. You will be stepping back into that ancient world, and you will be learning how to think, listen, and respond in the same way that people at the time of Jesus would have heard his words. In short, one goal of this study is for you to learn how to think with an eastern-oriented, first century mind.
At the time of Jesus, the life of God’s people, who were Jews and whom God called Israel, was God-centered. Every aspect of daily living was regulated by a desire to live in harmony with God. In this session, Dr. Davis teaches that in order to pursue first century methods of searching the Scriptures you must identify with the Jews of the first century who were indeed God-centered.
